Naturally graphite is among the first choice of materials for this application.
Our isostatic materials actually increase in strength at elevated temperatures, it is this combined with its dimensional stability and the fact that it is not wetted by most molten metals that makes it ideal for Jigs, fixtures, moulds and vacuum furnace components.
With a requirement for insulation materials similar to that of the Optical Fibre industry it is no surprise that our insulation products are also available here. With their low ash and sulphur contents, our range of low-density carbon and graphite felts are good for use up to 2750C in vacuum or inert atmospheres or 400C in oxidising atmospheres. Here too our products are available with both paint applied coatings or flexible graphite (Papyex®) protection as required.
