| Papyex® can be used to make ultra thin non brittle resistors in complex shapes, used particularly in experimental furnaces. It can also be used as an induction heater as Papyex® exhibits similar induction coupling properties to conventional electrographites.
Papyex® can be exploited to make thermal shielding for furnaces. Used on its own or as a surface application to Carbon/Graphite felts its impermability provides protection against erosion by corrosive vapours and gases used in forced cooling. Its low transverse thermal conductivity and reflective power increases insulating efficiency that is unaffected by pressure or temperature variations.
Its ability to be readily shaped means Papyex® can be applied to structures often difficult to protect such as tubular heating elements.
Extend the life of expensive moulds by using Papyex® as a liner to resist penetration of certain metals or alloys and assist in product removal.
Papyex® is not affected by semi or molten glass. It does not scratch still hot moulded products or cause localised cooling (no glazing). This makes Papyex® ideal for gland packings, support plates and for the replacement of undesirable Asbestos components. |
